Experience an adventure like no other, while canyoning in Deos gorges in Metsovo. A very difficult trail, 5 hours long, under the careful guidance of our certified canyoning guides, ideal for experienced canyoneers ages 15+.
Only 30′ from Ioannina, Deos gorge in Metsovo has taken its name after the awe that it inspires. Deos in Greek means awe! The river flows from September to June and the water volume during Easter is very large, mainly because of snow melting in Lakmos mountain or also known as Peristeri. To find the gorge we will have to walk for 15 minutes. Right after we meet the first, easy, rappels, in a quite open space, and after a while, we will meet some consecutive rappels. The more we advance inside the gorge the narrower and more formidable it becomes!
This specific route includes waterfalls of unique beauty with a 30m waterfall being the most impressive of them all Right after that we will rappel down 11 meters, and find ourselves in a low-lit space. The next, 23m rappel, will take place in pitch black, and the space you will find yourselves in, is truly awe-inspiring.
The route finishes on a street which we will have to walk for 45 minutes.
