We are exploring Southern Crete / Hiking Crossing on 3/9

A unique hiking trail on the southern coastline of Crete.

A few words about our adventure ...

Crete is a magical island and the ultimate Mediterranean destination for mountain hiking, in beautiful gorges and paths along crystal beaches.

The island of King Minos is known for its beautiful gorges and an extensive network of paths that meet the sea. Mythology, history, good food, and unparalleled hospitality in coastal villages, mingle on the mainland and reveal day by day to the visitor the secrets of the Cretan land.

• Total Excursion duration: 4 days

The total duration of Hiking:

1st day 6-7 hours / Kilometers: 16 (descent and hiking without uphill)

2nd day 5-6 hours, Kilometers: 10 (uphill course in the last 2 hours)

3rd day 3-4 hours / Kilometers: 7 (only descent and without uphill)

4th day 3-3.5 hours / Kilometers: 4

• Difficulty level: 3/5

Prerequisites:

• You do NOT need to have previous experience.
• Good physical and mental health over 18 years of age is required.

Our program:

DAY 1 SAMARIA GORGE

Meeting time: 10:00 am

Meeting point: at the entrance of the Central Market of Chania.

Transfer to Omalos and depart for the Samaria Gorge. The most beautiful and longest gorge in Europe welcomes us, and during the hike, we will see the famous Kri-Kri, we will smell the Cretan herbs and after crossing the 16km of the gorge, we will end up in the picturesque seaside village of Ag. Roumeli.

Resting in a seaside guesthouse and relaxation in the crystal clear waters of the Libyan Sea.

Overnight in Ag. Roumeli.

DAY 2 AGIA ROUMELI - AGIOS IOANNIS - LEFKA ORI

Breakfast and departure at 08:00 for the coastal path that leads to the beach of Ag. Paul.

After a refreshing stop at the tavern, we will follow the uphill path with the magnificent view, which will lead us to the picturesque village of Agios Ioannis, the White Mountains. The village seems lost in time and we will settle in a traditional hostel with wonderful homemade food. Overnight in Ag. John.

DAY 3 AGIOS IOANNIS - ARADAINAS GORGE

Breakfast and transfer of the group to the entrance of the Aradena Gorge.

This unique gorge runs through beautiful rock formations and ends at the hidden and wonderful Marmara beach, known for its crystal clear waters and sea caves. Relax on the beach and in the afternoon we will set sail with a small boat for the Bath. This small seaside village with island architecture welcomes visitors looking for tranquility, good food, and accommodation, as it is only accessible by hiking or boat. We are now at the southernmost tip of Europe, far from cars and congestion. Hotel accommodation with great views of Libya and overnight in Loutro.

DAY 4th LOUTRO - SFAKIA

Breakfast by the sea and departure for Sfakia.

The beautiful path that we will follow, passes by Glyka Nera beach and ends at the historic town of Sfakion.

Rest in Chora and then transfer to the city of Chania and then to the airport.

• Participation Cost: 450 € / person

Terms of participation

* With the declaration of interest, each participant is obliged to inform the organizer about any health problems and must have with him any medication that follows.

* The organizing company has the right to make changes to the planned activities, depending on weather conditions or other factors.

* The organizer reserves the right to exclude from the activity persons who do not comply with its instructions, who endanger the safety of themselves or the group and who in any way disturb the other participants.

* Minimum number of people 6. In case the minimum number is not completed, the trip is canceled and the amount of the advance payment is refunded in full.

* Our company follows hygiene rules set by EODY and recommended by SETEYD. Safety distances are maintained between individuals, all materials are disinfected after each use, disinfectant gel and wipes are offered. Participants must comply with applicable regulations and take care to maintain personal hygiene.
