2-day Excursion to Olympus, Mytikas & Enipeas Gorge

Exploring Mount Olympus, Mytikas, and Enipeas Gorge: A Two-Day Adventure in Greece's Pristine Nature!

Itinerary:

Friday

• Departure by mini-van from Nafplio and Athens with accommodation arrangements in the region (recommended: Palaios Panteleimonas).

Saturday

• Departure from the hotel heading to Prionia.
• There, we will hike through the Enipeas Gorge, a mesmerizing route at the foot of Mount Olympus! Hiking in the Enipeas Gorge involves crossing imposing canyons, lush streams, and crystalline rushing waters. We'll hike through a truly spectacular natural landscape!
• We start our hike towards the Old Monastery of Saint Dionysius. Nearby, we encounter the magnificent Enipeas Waterfall! The waters plunge vigorously from a height of 38 meters, forming a beautiful azure-green lake! Here, those who wish can swim in the cold waters. Swimwear and a towel are necessary.
• Our trail follows the river from the left, and we will cross it seven times on beautiful wooden bridges, alternating between the right and left banks. We hike in the shade of towering trees, amidst dense vegetation, accompanied by the sweet sound of Enipeas' flowing waters. Soon, we reach the "Mills" location in Litochoro, which marks the end of our hike.
• Hiking duration: 6 hours.
• Total activity duration: 10 hours.

Sunday

• We will visit the peaks of Mount Olympus.
• Departure from the hotel heading to Christakis Mountain Hut.
• From there, after an hour and a half of easy hiking, we will reach the Olympus staircase, overlooking the beautiful Kazania and Mytikas peaks. Those interested can continue to Skolio, and if conditions allow, those who are able and wish to, with the necessary equipment and guidance, can climb to the summit.
• Return late in the afternoon to the accommodation.
• Total activity duration: 10 hours.

General Information

• Altitude 400 meters.
• Distance 12 km.
• For participants, we provide walking sticks, rain gear, a light snack in the middle of the route, and personal insurance.
• Each participant should have appropriate athletic clothing, sturdy athletic shoes, a small backpack, water, and any other personal items they may need (a shirt, a towel, etc.).
• For those ascending the summit, there will be an extra charge covering equipment and guidance, to be arranged in advance.
• All transportation is done with our own 4x4 vehicles.
• Accommodation and meals are not included in the price.
• In case of inclement weather preventing an excursion, there is always an alternative program available.
