A 3-day / 2-night tour of the traditional small town of the mountainous northern Peloponnese.

With the welcoming Orias Guesthouse & Farm as your base, explore the local area via the exciting Vouraikos Gorge hike and a day of Kayaking on Lake Tsivlou.

After a warm welcome and a good rest, get ready for 2 days of action. On the first day, we will enjoy a hike in the 20 km Vouraikos Gorge, part of the Helmos-Vouraikos National Park, famous for its lush vegetation and incredible natural diversity!

Our return to our base will be very exciting as we will start a ride with "Tooth" going up to Kalavrita. The route is so beautiful, as it passes through the spectacular Vouraikos Gorge, which has been described as "the most spectacular railway route" in the Balkan region.

On the second day of the adventure, we drive to the lush green Tsivlou Lake at an altitude of 700 meters to explore our kayaks.

Activities / Program

Day 1: Arrival in Kalavryta

After arriving at our Oria Guest House & Farm, settle down and enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal in the relaxing and peaceful atmosphere of our hotel.

Day 2: Hiking in Vouraikos Gorge

In the northern Peloponnese, between Mount Helmos and the eastern extensions of Mount Panahaikou, lies one of Greece's best-kept secrets. The Vouraikos Gorge! An impressive 20 km long gorge formed after many years by the Vouraikos River. It is part of the Helmos-Vouraikos National Forest thanks to its rich vegetation and incredible natural diversity!

Waterfalls, beautiful caves, rushing crystal streams, cool springs, and impressive rocky cliffs, make this route an unforgettable experience! The path we follow crosses the protected area and is part of the well-known E4 path.

During our approximately 4-hour hike, we walk on the tracks of the most impressive attraction of this region of "Odontotos". Built-in 1896 to connect the towns of Diakoptos and Kalavryta, it has become an integral part of the area! It is often described as the most "spectacular railway route" in the Balkan region.

Starting our hike from the picturesque village of Zachlorou we will have the opportunity to enjoy the magnificent landscape and walk through this wonderful nature reserve until we reach Niamata. From here we board the famous Odontotos train and return to Kalavryta enjoying the amazing view along the way! This is a relatively easy hike, suitable for hikers from 10 to 70 years old! Get ready for an unforgettable hiking experience in the Vouraikos Gorge!

Day 3: Kayaking on Lake Tsivlou

Kayaking on Lake Tsivlou is a 3-hour day activity on a beautiful alpine lake. An exciting day of paddling, amidst green landscapes and tranquility at an altitude of 700 m in the Helmos mountain range.

Lake Tsivlos was created in 1913 by a landslide between the villages of Sylivena & Tsivlos. The lake is very deep and fed by underground springs and forest streams. Lake Tsivlou is considered one of the new natural lakes of Europe. It is surrounded by a lush pine forest, making it an ideal spot for light hikes, water activities, and picnics.

Our Lake Tsivlou kayaking tour begins with meeting us at our designated spot on the lake. After all the necessary preparations and safety briefing, we get on our feet and start practicing in the water! Our guides will paddle with us around the lake and depending on the group (families, adults, etc.) they will customize the experience with races, fun games, etc. creating a mountain experience.

Cancellation policy

Cancellation 7 days or more prior to the agreed activity starting date. You are automatically reimbursed for the full activity price.
Cancellation between 3 and 7 days prior to the agreed activity starting date. You are entitled to a 50% reimbursement.
Cancellation 3 days or later are what we call last-minute cancellations. No reimbursements will be effected.

* If the activity is canceled by the activity provider (due to weather, non-completion of minimum entries, force majeure, etc.), the price of your activity, is refunded in full.
