Athens Sightseeing Private Tour
Activity Description
Get the opportunity to explore Athens along with your friends and family enjoying the privacy of your own tour. With our van and a private driver you will be driven along the main streets of Athens and pass by the most important monuments. You will have the chance to stop and admire monuments such as Acropolis and Parthenon, Temple of Zeus, Parliament, Panatheniac Stadium and stroll around the old city Plaka and the Monastiraki Area. You will afterwards return to your pick up point in Athens.
Itinerary
Our first stop is Acropolis (visit Propylaea, Temple of Athena Nike, Parthenon, Erechtheion with its Porch of Maidens).Then we continue the tour with a pleasant short walk passing by Herodion and Dionysus Theater, in order to visit the ACROPOLIS museum. There you will admire the artifacts and sculptures originating from the numerous Acropolis buildings such as the Erechtheum, the Temple of Athena Nike and the Propylaea as well as from the Roman and early Christian Athens. As the museum is built over an extensive archaeological site, you will be able to see the excavations beneath through a transparent glass floor.Proceeding, we will visit the Temple of Olympian Zeus.Our next stop is the Panathinaiko Stadium where the first olympic games of modern times took place in 1896, it is the only stadium built out of white marble.We continue at the greek parliament and the tomb of the unknown soldier with the changing of the guards.We finish the tour with the old city plaka and the monastiraki area where you can have your lunch in the picturesque streets and the greek tavernas.
*All our drivers are professional English speaking drivers, have high experience and they have a good knowledge of the sites that you are going to visit. They can provide you general information for each one, but they are not official guides and they cannot escort you inside sites, museums and monuments.
