We arrive at the Lock Bridge, which is the starting point of our hike, and follow the path to the Aristi Bridge.

After completing our hike we continue to Konitsa to check in at our hotel.
Then follows the unique experience of the traditional cauldron!! A feast with plenty of food, unlimited tsipouro and good company is the recipe for a wonderful evening!!
- Sunday 6/11
After waking up and having breakfast, we have the option to choose how to spend our day:
- Free time in Konitsa or
- Ascent to Stomio Monastery or
- Via Ferrata climbing path.
Ascent to Stomio Monastery
We are heading towards the Stone Bridge of Konitsa.
Our path starts next to the old stone bridge of Konitsa and leads to the Stomio Monastery which is characterized by its special beauty. During the first hour the walk is mainly on a dirt road that runs parallel to the bed of the Aoos river, between the mountain of Gamila on one side and Smolika on the other. It is an easy and pleasant walk through an extraordinary landscape.
The last 30 minutes of the climb are more demanding as they are steeply uphill.
As we arrive at the Holy Monastery of Stomio, which is built on a rock formation, we will face the amazing view it offers of the valley of Aoos on one side and the mountainous Konitsa on the other.
One of its most important features, and what makes it particularly well-known around the world, is the fact that the elder monk Paisios lived here for several years before moving to Mount Athos.
- The route is easy with the last 1.5 km of the climb being uphill.
- Total length: 9 km
- Duration: 3.5 hours
Via Ferrata climbing path
Via ferrata literally means "iron road" in Italian and is a rock climbing route consisting of iron steps and safety cables. The physical condition required for the activity is of a moderate level, however it assumes a lack of fear of heights.
The route starts from the old bridge of Konitsa.
We move parallel to the river and cross two bridges. A small one in Gravos, 6-7 meters long and a large one, the Tibetan one of Aoos, 17 meters long and 35 meters high above the river!
To approach the route, a 45-minute gentle hike takes place on a beautiful route. Impressive climbs follow on metal steps and on a vertical rock 60-70 meters above the water. In between, we will encounter several hiking intervals with enchanting landscapes and we will end up at the historical bridge of Konitsa.
- Duration is 5-6 hours.
- The necessary equipment (helmets, suits, ropes) is provided by those in charge.
- The cost of the Via Ferrata activity is €55 and is not included in the package price
We return to Thessaloniki in the evening refreshed and filled with the wonderful images and sensations that the Epirotian nature gave us.
