A green route "in the footsteps of Philoctetes", mythical king and hero of the Trojan War.
We start from Athanati (old name of the village) that time has not touched - rich in colors, landscapes, people and traditions. A stop in the square can give us the opportunity to find Barba-Yannis and guide us to the museum with the findings of the castle, but we will definitely enjoy the view and the tea of Kissavos.
With care for the "Joes"… .we will start to descend on a fairytale route with lush vegetation always next to the ravine that has a special charm every season. The wooden bridges, the waterfall, the lake, the chestnut trees and the shepherds that we will meet compose a different puzzle of the senses.
We will stumble on the rock below which the Monk's Skete is still well hidden, we will discover the natural frame for the souvenir photo, we will learn about the myth of the ownership of the path with the dog and the cat and we will meet the Mill, an amateur energy power generation…
At the end of our journey, after about 2.30 hours, we cross the stream (Flying Fox) by air and test our strength in the sport of archery like modern Philoktites ...
