Hiking to the famous Plaka Bridge, Tzoumerka
Activity Description
One of the most imposing landscapes in the area of Tzoumerka is the Gorge of Arachthos! The gorge with the very high vertical slopes and the deep blue rushing river flows through it. The river is surrounded by beautiful forests, springs with clear waters, plane trees as well as impressive, steep, mountain peaks. This is a landscape of unparalleled beauty that is hard to find all over Greece.
The hike at the Plaka Bridge is a small, gentle hike to the exit of the Gorge of Arachthos, to the chapel of Ag. Vassilios, overlooking the imposing peaks of Tzoumerka and the open valley of Arachthos. It follows a path in a green, low vegetation landscape. The route is easy, suitable for everyone, regardless of age or experience. The distance is 3 + 3 km and we need about 2 hours to complete it. In the middle of the route we have the opportunity to tour the largest single-arched bridge in Greece, the famous Plaka Bridge.
