Activity Description
We commence our journey from the charming main square of Vitina. Taking the less-traveled dirt roads, we gradually descend until the serene Agia Paraskevi church emerges before us, a symbol of devotion nestled amidst nature.
As we move forward, the bubbling sounds of the Barbas stream guide our steps. We find ourselves walking alongside it, cocooned by towering fir trees. This stretch paints a mesmerizing tapestry of colors and landscapes, a testament to nature's unmatched artistry.
Soon, we reach the Fir forest of Mainalon - a verdant sanctuary that beckons us to pause. As we catch our breath, our minds drift to legends of the semi-god Panas. It's said he once roamed these parts, reveling in the symphony of chirping birds, the aroma of fresh waters, and the sight of elusive wild animals.
Invigorated, we resume our journey, tracing an enchanting trail that eventually leads us to the Kokkinovrisi freshwater source. The pure, cool water here is a refreshing reward for our wanderings. We take a moment to indulge in some snacks, soaking in the tranquility. The descent that follows offers unparalleled panoramas. Every step reveals breathtaking views of Vitina and its quaint neighboring villages, each with its own story to tell.
Our expedition concludes on a poetic note as we tread the famous "Love Road" in Vitina. Steeped in tales of romance, this path serves as a fitting finale to our memorable journey.
