We will take you to the hidden gems of Meteora that only locals know and the smooth light of the evening will offer many chances for incredible photos.
Enjoy a comprehensive tour of all 6 Monasteries and have the chance to visit the interior of 1 of them. Your Tour Leader will be with you to provide all the information you need about the life of monks and you will learn the amazing history of the area.
You will visit also the Byzantine church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, one of the most important monuments, situated in the old city of Kalabaka. In the walls of this church for hundreds of years, the marble of an ancient temple was hidden. The marble belonged to the temple of God Apollo. Nowadays that the plaster which covered them is removed you will be able to see God’s face represented as the Sun.
At the end of the tour, we will take you to the best viewpoint on the rocks to watch the sun setting behind the mountain range of Pindos or according to Greek mythology, you will see god Helios on his fiery chariot taking his horses to rest. Snap photos as the changing light paint the landscape in shifting hues of rose and gold before hopping back in the minibus for the return ride to your hotel. The sunset at Meteora is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

- Appropriate clothing for everyone is required to enter the monasteries. For ladies skirts by the knee or longer are required. No pants for ladies, no shorts, no sleeveless shirt. For men, sleeveless clothing and shorts over the knee are prohibited.
