2-day Mushroom Festival in Flega Lakes and Valia Kalda

During the autumnal call of the forest, we invite you to the Valia Calda area over the weekend, to give us the purest of what nature has to offer - mushrooms of all kinds, and to celebrate on the outskirts of Valia Calda!

Program:

Friday

• Arrival and accommodation in the area.

Saturday

• We will collect mushrooms from the outskirts of Valia Calda and the mountains of Metsovo with experienced guides.
• We will gather at a predetermined location, and transportation to the forest will be provided by our own 4x4 vehicles and possibly by cars within our group (always 4x4).
• We will explore the areas that provide a satisfying quantity and variety of mushrooms during this season.
• After completing the search, around 14:00, we will enjoy our mushrooms prepared by two experienced chefs in a beautiful corner of Valia Calda, in a meal exclusively based on mushrooms. We will return to the hotels later in the afternoon.

Sunday

• We will visit all the magical views of the area and the Flame Lakes.
• We will approach the alpine part of Mount Mavrovouni and the stunning landscape with lightning-struck fir trees.
• After reaching the summit and the lakes, we will descend along the trail toward the core and Arkoudorema, where our vehicles will be waiting for us to explore the rest of the valley.
• Activity duration: 10 hours (hiking 6 hours), distance: 15 km.

General Information:

• The excursion is of moderate difficulty and requires basic physical fitness.
• For those who do not wish to complete the entire hike, they can choose to do a shorter one, as desired, to Arkoudorema by following the vehicles. This option is suitable for children as well. Total activity duration: 8 hours.
• Participants will be provided with walking sticks, waterproof gear, light snacks during the hike, and individual insurance.
• Each participant must have appropriate sportswear, sturdy athletic shoes, a small backpack, water, and any other personal items they may need (towel, T-shirt, etc.).
• In this activity, there is also the option to participate with your own 4x4 vehicles.
• In case of unfavorable weather conditions, there is always an alternative program.
• Accommodation and meals are not included in the cost.
• For transportation with our 8-seater minivan, there is an extra charge of 30€ per person."
