Sea Kayak in Ammouliani!
Ammouliani is located between the second and third peninsula of Halkidiki in the bay of Mount Athos. This is the only inhabited island in Halkidiki. This small and beautiful island offers the ideal conditions for ideal holidays with a sea kayak. Its area is 4.5 square kilometers. with many small harbors, steep cliffs, and beautiful sandy beaches where we enjoy the warm turquoise waters of the sea. Ammouliani is also ideal for seabed observation and taking photos.
The Sea Kayak program in Ammouliani starts at Pyrgos Proforiou, next to the port of Ouranoupolis. Our first stop is the beautiful beaches of the island of Drenia. With diving masks and snorkels we discover the seabed, swim in the warm crystal clear waters, and enjoy the sun on golden sandy beaches.
Then we paddle to Ammouliani, meeting impressive rocks and reefs of the Southwest Coast. At noon we stop at the beach of Alykes and then continue to Karagatsia Bay. Here we camp for the evening and get ready for a gorgeous BBQ on the beach! In the evening we can be transported by road and walk to the town of Ammouliani or have lunch at the tavern of the campsite in Alykes.
The next day we prepare our kayaks and paddle the rest of the way to the beaches of Faka, Tratovoli, and Tsaska, where we make a stop for rest. About 6 nautical miles after and after passing the port of Ammouliani we make a stop for light lunch on the beach of Ag. Georgiou or on the beach of Grypos which are almost glued !! Then we pass again through the islands of Drenia or Gaidaronisia to complete our tour by returning to Ouranoupolis.
DAY 1: OURANOUPOLI - DRENIA ISLAND - AMMOULIANI
09:00 We start from Ouranoupolis. Information and acquaintance with kayaks and equipment. After our preparation we paddle to the beautiful small islands near Ammouliani.
10:30 We take a break on the beautiful beaches with the shallow waters of the island of Drenia. With diving masks and snorkels we discover the seabed, swim in the warm crystal clear waters and enjoy the sun on golden sandy beaches. Then we head to Ammouliani, admiring the impressive rocks and reefs of the Southwest Coast.
14:00 Stop for swimming and food on the beach of Alykes, one of the most famous beaches on the island.
17:30 pm We continue rowing for 1.5nm. to Karagatsia Bay.
18:30 We organize the place to camp in the evening and regain our strength in the local tavern or BBQ and fire on the beach. In the evening we can be transported by road and walk to the town of Ammouliani or have lunch at the tavern of the campsite in Alykes.
DAY 2: AMMOULIANI - OURANOUPOLI
9:00 After breakfast we prepare the kayaks and start our current route.
11:00 Stop for rest and swimming on the beaches of Faka, Tratovoli and Tsaska.
14:00 After passing the port of Ammouliani carefully having traveled about 6nm, we stop for a light lunch on the beach of Ag. Georgiou or on the beach of Grypos which are almost glued !! Rest and play on the beach.
17:00 We continue our tour with the kayaks passing again through the islands of Drenia or Gaidaronisia and we complete the tour with our return to Ouranoupolis.
