4x4 tour of the Prespes Lakes

In this excursion, we embark on a sightseeing experience in the Prespes region.

The vehicle that will accommodate you for these excursions is a Land Rover Discovery equipped with all the necessary off-road accessories. 

Program

• We visit the islet of Agios Achilleios through a floating footbridge that starts from the area of Laimos.
• After walking to the islet, we explore it to see the churches and other landmarks located on the island:
• The Basilica of Agios Achilleios, a ruined monastery from the 10th century (968), was built by the Bulgarian tsar Samuel.
• The Basilica of the Twelve Apostles is a ruined church from the 11th century.
• The Monastery of Panagia Porphyra, located at the southeastern tip of the islet, preserves frescoes from the 15th, 16th, and 18th centuries in its main church.
• The Church of Agios Dimitrios from the 14th century.
• The Church of Agios Georgios is a small single-aisle basilica from the 15th century that preserves its frescoes.
• Next, we will visit the traditional settlement of Psarades, the only village built on the shores of Megali Prespa. Of particular interest in this location is the boat ride the locals offer, allowing you to admire the frescoes on the cliffs and visit the Hermitage of Panagia Eleousa.
• Before continuing our excursion, we can taste local delicacies such as fish from the lake and beans.
• On our return, we will pass through Korestia.
