Ikaria is a climbing paradise, with fine quality granite rocks, safe for climbing in already charted and bolted climbing sectors.
In Ikaria you will be impressed by the rare beauty of giant natural sculptures: on the island you can find numerous giant granite rocks in amazing formations and shapes, offered for the kind of climbing called "bouldering".
Bouldering is a form of rock climbing that is performed on low rock formations (2-5 meters tall), known as boulders, without the use of ropes or harnesses. Instead, climbers use bouldering crash pads, as well as climbing shoes and chalk on hands to secure a firm grip. The climber is called to solve a bouldering problem at a low safe height and find the sequence of moves to perform in order to complete the climbing route.
At the moment, there are already more than 300 bouldering problems charted on the island.
