Aggalaki Doline, located near the village of Poulata in Kefalonia, is the most accessible and spectacular cave within a wider network of at least 17 known caves. Similar to Melissani Cave, it was formed by a collapse of the ceiling, creating a natural skylight through which sunlight reaches deep into the earth, giving the cave's underground waters a rare blue hue.
Access to the cave starts via the well-known trail from Agia Dynati, passing through monasteries and abandoned mountain villages. Inside, you’ll explore two underground lakes, cave chambers adorned with speleothems (stalactites & stalagmites), and even observe a large bat colony in their natural habitat.
