Clean Monday 3day Excursion in Central Evia - Hiking & Canyoning

Day 1: Saturday 25/02/2023

Crossing/Hiking in the Agali Gorge

Our route...

(Shelter - Agios Athanasios)

We will start from the Agalis Refuge (930m.). and we will move downhill inside the canyon until its entrance, near the village of Agios Athanasios.

The route inside the gorge is downhill. We cross sub-alpine slopes and meadows and reach our first stop, the Kratia spring, at 730 meters altitude, with the characteristic giant plane tree. The landscape changes little by little and plane trees appear, among the firs and then among the pines. We continue to our next stop at the Cryovrysi spring, a beautiful stone fountain with gurgling water awaits us! Little by little the gorge narrows and towering impressive rocks rise up next to us. We cross the river by the metal bridges that have replaced the old wooden ones.

Full of images of unique beauty, we reach the village of Agios Athanasios (190m.).

Day 2: Sunday 26/02/2023

• Meeting: 10.00am at Farangi Petalis
• Activity (about 4 hours)

Canyoning in Petalis Gorge (Kerasias)

Various shifts in the "jungle" of Central Evia. Unique combination of abseiling and hiking techniques, as it involves quite a bit of walking inside the canyon thanks to its long length. A canyon of wild beauty, with narrow walls and large stone formations in dense vegetation that ends in the deep blue waters of the Aegean. In this season we will have the opportunity to admire these wonderful alternations of mountain & sea landscapes with their winter colors - completely different from what we are used to!

• Maximum descent: 10 meters
• Length: 3km
• suitable for beginners and children over 14 years old

Day 3: Monday 27/02/2023

• Meeting: 10.00am Diaselo Katafugiou Nikolaou
• Activity (about 5 hours)

The first part of our hike will be up to the shelter of Dirfi to enjoy the view of the wild, alpine and impressive mountain.

We will return and hike through the lush green fir forest to the Xerovouni plateau, where we will enjoy the second highest peak of Evia in a breathtaking view.

At the end of the activity he will have a Lenten picnic in nature

• Difficulty Level: 1/5
• suitable for beginners and children over 12 years old

17:00 Stroll through the narrow streets of Steni for coffee and dessert (whoever wishes)

19:00 End of three days

Conditions:

• Basic physical condition, love for nature, appetite and good mood are required!
