Farm Tour and Cooking Class in Sifnos Island (morning tour)
Activity Description
We will be expecting you to arrive at 9:30 am and savor our breakfast. A genuine Sifnos breakfast comprised of Sifnos thyme honey, homemade marmalade jam, homemade cheese, and eggs from our own free-range chickens. A truly rich and special meal!
We will then discuss our day's menu, and prepare ourselves for this.
After breakfast, we will tell you the history of the three generations' farm and how to grow vegetables without water. You will learn the history of Greek cuisine and how it evolved over the centuries. We will have fresh goat's milk and we will show you how easily you can make ricotta at home with fresh milk that you can find on a farm in your area. Around 10:00 am we will start cooking the recipes.
We will give you the folder with the day's recipes where you can note that it is important that can help you even more in your home when you decide to make some of them.
Usually, these are recipes speedy and very easy, one of them you will make. This will take about an hour and a half in between, we will have tsipouro - grappa with a surprise meze from Sifnos.
When we finish cooking we will go for a walk on the farm to see the crops.
How can we have watermelons, melons, and tomatoes, without a drop of water for 5-6 months.
See our animals. We will feed them, We will pick and taste our fruits and vegetables and we will return to the kitchen to sit together to eat, and drink our wine.
At about 14:00 we will be done.
In addition to the experiences, you will take some gifts with you so that you can try a recipe at home.
