Mountain Biking at Ancient Kassopi, Preveza

The base of our cycling route is located on the mountainside of Zalongos, next to the monastery of Agios Dimitrios and under the huge statues of Souliotisses, which we will initially visit. Walking smoothly along the road, we will meet a path that drives through dense pine forest and leads in a huge clearing and at the entrance of ancient Kassiopi.

Our cycling wandering in the archaeological settlement is unique, as in a plateau of 550-650m you are moving excitedly in the ancient market, on an area of 300 acres, recognizing the parliamentary,the cathedral, the ancient theater, the Hero. Following the paved streets between the ruins and under the pine trees we understand the harmonious urban planning of the ancient city on a green slope fortified behind it with mountains and in front of it with cliffs and the magnificent view of the Ionian Sea and the Amvrakikos gulf.

Leaving behind us the ancient city we drive to a magnificent asphalt route with plane trees and soon we enter the path to ride downhill to the fast-paced roads of the mountains of Zalongos with their wild beauty.

At the village of Myrsini which stayed intact from the time we will enter the aesthetic forest of Lekatsa, an impressive route between the huge plateaus, oaks and cypresses, while at the same time we will see the small Arethon river going with us at the same time. Crossing the plantations of the olive groves and orange trees we will arrive in the monastery of Agia Pelagia with the blooming gardens, where we will take a few minutes to admire the tranquility of the area.

Going downhill towards the beautiful and coastal settlement of Kastrosykia, we will complete our journey, reaching an organized beach in Kanali where we will enjoy good service, music, sun loungers and our sea bath.
