Hiking and swimming in the river! An exciting summer experience in nature.
Starting from the village of Vikos, we descend an old cobbled path, to the springs of Voidomatis! During the River Trekking in Ano Voidomatis, we enjoy the panoramic view to the Vikos Gorge, one of the most impressive gorges in Greece, which is also one of the deepest gorges in the world according to the Guinness Book of Records! The steep slopes of the top of Astraka in Tymfi, the green nature of the Vikos-Aoos National Park and the endless horizon dominate around us! Soon we arrive at the Monastery of Panagia, built in 1763, which we will have the opportunity to visit.
Our route leads to the springs of Voidomatis. Here our guide informs us about all the technical issues and we receive the necessary equipment. During the River Trekking we cross the river several times, dive in the crystal clear waters and enjoy the untouched natural landscape of the gorge! About halfway through we relax and regain our strength with a delicious picnic. The impressive route ends at the impressive Aristis-Papigou bridge. Here our means of transport is waiting for us to return to the starting point, in the village of Vikos.
