A unique winter camp. A week full of skiing, snowboarding and lots of winter activities, for children aged 11-15. Our base, the wonderful area of ​​Oria Guesthouse, in the village of Kerpini, at an altitude of 1,000 m. And just 10 ′ from Kalavrita.

At the Ski & Snowboard Camp in Helmos, the children, under the supervision and guidance of specialized instructors, will take a daily ski & snowboard lesson in small groups of 3-4 children.

They will take part in exciting mountain activities, such as winter hiking and living, stargazing, orienteering, snowmobile construction and climbing a special 6.5 meter wall. They will meet professional mountain guides and environmentalists, and learn to move in the field with them. Are you all ready for an unforgettable week?

Activities

The activities are always adapted to the age groups of the children and they follow all the safety rules. During the program, activities may vary, depending on weather conditions and team capacity.

Indicative program of activities:

• Arrival of campers & acquaintance, guided tour, accommodation at the hostel

• Winter orienteering
• Evaluation and information for the Kalavrita Hospital

Day 3 Monday

• Ski & snowboard lesson,

• Speech on the central theme of the environment

• Night hiking

Day 5 Wednesday

• Hiking with snowshoes
• Construction of igloo & snow hole

Accommodation

The children are accommodated in the rooms of Oria Guesthouse and use all the facilities of the hostel, in the 20 acres of land it occupies.

The rooms have a natural decoration, they create the feeling of warmth and intimacy, while having all the comforts.

In each room live 2-3 children of the same sex and common age group, supervised by one / one Team Leader per 3 rooms, which are located in the same building. There is intercom for maximum child safety.

Many of the recreational and educational activities take place at the facilities of Oria Guesthouse. The purpose of the program is for children to spend most, if not all, of their time outdoors in the mountains of Helmos.

Contact

The program manager, as well as the booking department, are always available to assist you and answer any questions you may have about the program and your child's participation in it. However, for the communication with your children and in order to ensure the smooth operation of the program and to achieve its goal, specific hours of telephone conversation have been set (daily 19:00 - 20.00).

Frequent communication with your children will make it difficult for them to adjust smoothly and quickly. The children have a full program of activities every day.

The program explicitly prohibits the possession and use of mobile phones by children. If a child has a mobile phone, he will be picked up by his team leader and will be returned when he leaves the program.

Visit schedule

Due to the short duration of the program there is no specific day of visitation. You can visit the child only if you deem it absolutely necessary and after consulting with the person in charge of the program. We recommend that you avoid visiting because the pace of children's lives is disorganized.

Nutrition

The children's nutrition program is designed to meet all their nutritional needs and desires. It includes 5 meals a day and is adapted to the activities that children follow, whether they are inside or outside the hostel.

• Breakfast:

Breakfast includes milk, cereals, honey, tahini, praline, jams, cakes, fruit, cold cuts & cheeses, dried fruit, fresh boiled eggs

• Snack:

Fresh juice with sandwich

• Lunch:

Served between 14.00-15.00 depending on the activities

• Afternoon snack:

Homemade pie or ice cream or trunk or jelly is shared at 17:30

• Dinner:

Served between 20:30 - 21:30

All meals are always accompanied by a salad from the garden and seasonal fruit.

Equipment

We ask parents to pay special attention to the correct equipment of the children as exactly listed below. The special and exciting activities of the program require the appropriate equipment to be enjoyable and not tedious for children.

In the preparation of children's luggage it would be good to include:

• Backpack 25-35
• Thermos, Head Lens, Sunglasses or Mask
• Waterproof Jacket and Pants (suitable for skiing)
• Gloves, Hat, Socks
• Fleece or vest clothing
• Thermal underwear
• Tracksuits / long pants for excursions / hiking in the forest for protection from thorny plants and possible bites)
• Sneakers (2 pairs and sneakers for greater safety and comfort in hiking)
• Toothbrush, toothpaste, comb
• Sunscreen with a high protection index (MANDATORY)
• Anti-lice preventive spray (MANDATORY)

Children will be able to have the following with them if they wish:

• Laundry bag
• Musical Instruments
• Books
• Magnifying glass
• Flashlight (light)
• Binoculars

It is forbidden for children to have with them:

• Valuables
• Electronic games
• Sharp and dangerous objects (eg fidget spinner, knives, knives, etc.)
• Large amounts of money
• Sweets and foods that can spoil and become dangerous to their health

Prerequisite for participation: Submission of a certificate of vaccination or illness or a negative Rapid Test result 24-48 hours before the start of the Camp.

In case of loss of any item (eg watch, etc.), the Hotel and the Program Leader do not bear ANY RESPONSIBILITY.

Please note that the guest house provides all the services of hospitality, cleanliness and hygiene and therefore you do not need to provide for pillows, sheets, blankets, towels, shampoo, shower gels.
