Ancient Path of Delphi!
An impressive hike with unique landscape changes gives us the opportunity to explore the sacred place of Delphi. Jupiter is said to have left two eagles, one to the east and one to the west, and they met at Delphi, pointing to the center of the world. The "Navel of the earth", as Delphi was called, was the most important oracle of the ancient Greek world. The oracle's fame reached the ends of the earth, while its predictions about the Argonaut campaign and the Trojan War were crucial.
In the hike Ancient Path of Delphi we follow in the footsteps of the ancient pilgrims. We pass through the lush fir forest on the plateau of Livadi. Then we descend enjoying the magnificent view to the vast olive groves, the Corinthian Gulf, and the imposing peaks of the Peloponnese mountains. From above we look at all the antiquities, which are among the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Our route combines the stunning beauty of the mountain landscape and the imposing atmosphere of this sacred place! Come and enjoy a beautiful hike on the mythical mountain of Parnassos.
The total distance we travel is 8 km (or 6 in a shorter version) and the altitude difference is 650m.
