Activity Description
Built in a beautiful forest of beeches and centuries-old robola, the shelter of Petrostrouga on Olympus, offers wonderful views everywhere, to the mountain and the towering snow-capped peaks from one to the sea and the endless blue that stretches at the foot of the mythical mountain!
The ascent is made by a very well-paved path and the route is of moderate difficulty (depending on the height of the snow), but ideal for an introduction to hiking in a snowy field.
Most of the trail is located in a dense beech forest, while from the aqueduct and after the beech forest it is replaced by centuries-old robola.
The program Winter climb to the shelter Petrostrougas (1940m) is addressed to:
- to those who want to experience the mountain of the gods in winter from a beautiful alternative route
- to those who want to take their first steps in the winter mountain and introduction to the use of winter equipment (crampons)
- to those who want to enjoy a different excursion to Olympus safely
The driver / escort of the program reserves the discretion to modify the program for safety reasons, reasons for non-compliance with the schedule or non-compliance with the climbing rules by the participants.

Itinerary
- 07:30 am - Meeting at our Base in Litochoro for acquaintance and organization of equipment and backpacks.
- 08:00 am - Departure for Gortsia (1100m) where we will park and start our hike.
- 08:30 am - Departure from Gortsia to Petrostrouga via the well-preserved path (approximately 4-5 hours)
- 12:00 pm - Arrival at the Petrostuga Shelter and free time for food or coffee.
- 13:30 pm - Return from the same path to Gortsia (2.5-3 hours) after a day full of Olympus.
- 17:00 pm - Arrival in Litochoro end of the activity.

- Good physical condition and mental health.
- Over 18 years old in a different case accompanied by a parent.
- Appetite and mood for hiking in the mountain of the gods.

Cancellation policy
- Cancellation 7 days or more prior to the agreed activity starting date. You are automatically reimbursed for the full activity price.
- Cancellation between 3 and 7 days prior to the agreed activity starting date. You are entitled to a 50% reimbursement.
- Cancellation 3 days or later are what we call last-minute cancellations. No reimbursements will be effected.
