Activity Description
Endowed with rich nature, running water all year round and easy access, Steni is an ideal solution for those who want a short escape to an unexpectedly beautiful destination.
Our visit to the beautiful, picturesque mountain village will allow us to admire up close the extraordinary forest of Dirfis.
Leaving behind us the village (450m altitude) we climb towards the refuge "Mihalis Nikolaou" (1120m altitude) from the well-maintained path S2, distance 3.9km. We will find ourselves among pines and plane trees. The brown forest that follows, one of the 19 aesthetic forests of the country, will empty our minds and fill our bodies. Then we will meet cedar and then fir. We will arrive at the refuge after about 2.5 hours and enjoy the magnificent view towards the top of Delphi and the Aegean Sea.
After half an hour of rest we will take the way back from the path S1 (4.5km), right behind the refuge. It is one of the most beautiful trails, with constant changes in landscape and vegetation. After 2 hours we will be back in the village.
