Jeep tour and hiking in Nestos Delta (West side)
Activity Description
A tour that reveals the wonderful mosaic of individual wetlands that actually make up the Nestos Delta. We cross the riverside forest following the Nestos until its final destination, the sea. Here the competition and at the same time the coexistence of humans and wildlife is the main characteristic of the place with continuous alternations of forest, wetlands, and lakes with agricultural lands, tourist facilities, and settlements.
PROGRAM
We start from Toxotes and pass the bridge of Nestos we continue towards Chrysoupoli and from there heading south we follow the western embankment to the sea. Clusters of huge trees testify to the greatness of the legendary "Great Forest" that even its remnants surrounding the river create awe. Coffee break with a view of Thassos and we continue wandering through the wetlands passing by Keramoti and the lagoons of Chaideutos and Agiasmas.
