Two-day excursion with Rafting and Hiking in Mountainous Arcadia 7-8 / 11

If you want a different weekend with adventure and activities, without having to break your piggy bank, we have arranged the perfect excursion! We have combined Rafting and Rappel on the Lucius river with hiking in the lush forest and the rivers of Vytina for an unforgettable excursion. Walks, adrenaline, and relaxation. This trip has it all!

Excursion schedule:

 1st day, Saturday 7/11

• We meet at Syntagma Square at 7.00 am. and depart at 7.15 am for the river of Lousios.
• We will reach the Lousios river at 10.00 p.m. to do Rafting and Rappel.
• End of activities before 3.00 p.m. when we will depart for our hotel in the picturesque Karytaina.
• The rest of the day will have a free schedule and rest time.
• Food is included in a traditional tavern at any time of the day.

 2nd day, Sunday 8/11

• We will have breakfast at the hotel and pack our things to leave at 10.30 am.
• We arrive at the square of Vytina where we will have some free time to tour the alleys of the village.
• 12.00 am we start our hike on the classic route of Vytina which will last about 3.5 hours.
• At the end of the hike, we will eat our snack and take the last breaths of fresh air before taking the road back to Athens.
• Free time in Vytina for rest and coffee
• Return to Athens at 20.00 p.m.

Description of activities

Rafting - Rappel on the Lousios river

One of the most impressive rivers in Greece is the Lousios River. The route is entirely in a narrow gorge with rich waters and vegetation were in many places the trees form tunnels and the water literally passes under them. The beauty of the landscape with the vegetation, the stone arched bridges, the springs that "pop" through the plane trees and the beautiful sculptures formed by the water-carved rocks in combination with the impressive passages and the crystal clear waters make this route the most popular rafting route in Greece.

Rappel is the descent of fields using climbing equipment. It is an easy sport that does not require previous experience. Our descent (for anyone who wants - it is optional) will be done by a bridge.

Hiking on the classic route of Vytina

We start from the central square of Vytina and through a marked path we descend and meet an old stone bridge called "Zarzi". We make a short stop to admire the Mylaontas river. We continue a riverside route between plane trees and firs in an incredible combination of colors and landscapes. Next stop at the watermill of "Tselepis". There we can get an idea of ​​how people made flour in the past. Then after a small uphill, we reach a clothesline with incredible views of the mountain range of Mainalo.

Through a gentle route between walnuts, we end up in the stream "Barba". We follow it through a beautiful path and go up to the church of Agia Paraskevi where we admire the wonderful view from above. Our route ends in the square by a dirt road with a last panoramic view of the village.
