Activity Description

See alternate routes that also make it to the top of Mount Olympus. Explore the mountain beyond the typical tourist routes to find its hidden treasures.

Small groups led by experts who are familiar with the routes are used. The objective is to commune with nature and uncover the hidden histories of various trails.

Day 1: Prionia to Refuge A

On the first day, we’ll all meet in the Litochoros parking area for an introduction to the program, a summary of the trail map, and a gear check. We’ll park our cars in Litochoro and take a shuttle to Prionia. We will climb from here to the refuge of Zolotas (Spilios Agapitos). We’ll begin our climb in the thick woodland near Enipeas’s river or stream, cross a stream where avalanches have left clear markings, and emerge onto the ridge. The famous “zig-zags” in the trail are there because the walkway turns steep and uphill near the edge. With a beer or hot drink in hand, you can take in the view of the Enipeas gorge and the Aegean from the refuge’s terrace.

Day 2: East to the West of Olympus

Today’s day and hiking will be long, so we’ll get started as soon as possible after having breakfast with the incredible view of the Aegean and the peaks lit up with the golden color of the sunrise. From here, we’ll take the classic route up to Kakoskala and Skolio. We will enjoy the magnificent view of the peaks and the great Kazania from here. We’ll continue on to Ag. Antonios refuge, where we’ll make our big stop for a light lunch. Following a brief history of the shelter, we will proceed to the Migotzidis emergency shelter and then to the KEOAX the military camp, where the bus that will take us back to Prionia will be waiting for us. The drive back will take about 2 hours and will take us through the south side of Olympus, which is less well-known but has impressive vegetation and great views of the Pieriki coast.

Cancellation policy

Cancellation 7 days or more prior to the agreed activity starting date. You are automatically reimbursed for the full activity price.
Cancellation between 3 and 7 days prior to the agreed activity starting date. You are entitled to a 50% reimbursement.
Cancellation 3 days or later are what we call last-minute cancellations. No reimbursements will be effected.

* If the activity is canceled by the activity provider (due to weather, non-completion of minimum entries, force majeure, etc.), the price of your activity, is refunded in full.
