Tucked away in the embrace of Mount Parnon, the waterfalls of Lepida stand as hidden gems among the region's natural wonders. Cascading gracefully over ash-colored rocks, the water plunges with remarkable vigor, enveloping the surroundings in a symphony of scents—wafts of oregano and sage permeate the air, while delicate plane trees cling to the rocky terrain, painting a picturesque tableau of untamed beauty. Nestled within the eponymous gorge of Parnon, the enchanting waterfalls boast impressive dimensions—the main cascade soaring to a height of 70 m, with its smaller counterpart measuring a still-impressive 45 m.
The journey commences from a traditional village nestled deep within the heart of Mount Parnon, where the landscape teems with bubbling springs and lush vegetation, set against a backdrop of tranquility at an altitude of 450 m.
Venturing into the gorge, travelers trace the path alongside the babbling waters, ultimately encountering both majestic waterfalls. The return journey follows a different route, offering a fresh perspective on the surrounding terrain. While the initial stretch leading to the first waterfall poses a minimal challenge, the subsequent leg demands a more rigorous approach, necessitating the use of mountaineering safety equipment to navigate safely.
