3-days Sea Kayak Expedition in Southern Central Crete
Activity Description
An excellent trip that gives you the chance to paddle in one of the most amazing coastlines of Crete. Part of the trip includes an open crossing to Paksimadia islands (14km). Overnight in tents. If the group prefers to overnight in small apartments we can alter the plan but that means that we won't do the open crossing to Paksimadia as there isn’t any accommodation nor any buildings on them.
The cost of accommodation is about 30-50€ for a room with 2 beds.
Experienced needed: Intermediate
The whole trip is about 80-90km. This equates to about 25-30km/day in 3 days.
You need to have previous experience in sea kayaks and especially to be able to track the kayak in a straight line and be comfortable with sea state 3 (ideally 4).
During the trip, you will have the chance to improve your skills and practice rescues in warm water. Top-quality boats from Nigel Dennis, Valley, Northshore, and P&H are available.
Camping & food
The expedition is self-catering. Usually, we each look after our own breakfast, lunch, and snacks and prepare a group evening meal in turn.
We will buy 2 days' worth of food and water at the beginning as we will be able to restock during the route.
Meals in seaside towns, or beachside tavernas, are possible during the whole trip apart from the day that we will do the open crossing to the islands. Usually, we prepare our own breakfast & dinner and have lunch in a taverna.
During the off-season (late October to late April) we will need to carry supplies for the whole trip and won't be possible to eat in a taverna as all are closed.
Can I rent all the camping equipment?
We can provide all the equipment for camping apart from the sleeping bag for an extra cost. You can get a high-quality 3 or 4-season tent for an extra 30€ for the whole duration of the trip and also the mattress. The stove (complete set from Trangia) and gas canister are an extra 30€ and are suitable for 2-3 persons.

Cancellation policy
- Cancellation 14 days or more prior to the agreed activity starting date. You are automatically reimbursed for the full activity price.
- Cancellation between 7 and 14 days prior to the agreed activity starting date. You are entitled to a 50% reimbursement.
- Cancellation 7 days or later are what we call last-minute cancellations. No reimbursements will be effected.
* If the activity is canceled by the activity provider (due to weather, non-completion of minimum entries, force majeure, etc.), the price of your activity, is refunded in full.

- Many activities are based on the weather, so it is recommended that you contact the company before the activity.
- It is a good idea to be at the meeting point on time, before the scheduled start time.
- After your reservation it is enough to give your details to the cooperating company so that you can carry out your activity. However, it is recommended that you have the booking confirmed in digital or printed form.

Notes: We will meet near the city of Heraklion between 8-9 am. You should arrive in Heraklion the day before. Transfer from or near Heraklion is provided for free. On the last day of the trip we will return back to Heraklion by our car and will be glad to drop you in the airport if your flight is on same date. Your flight needs to be late enough as we need about 2 hours to get there from the place that will finish our sea kayak trip. The best place to fly to is Heraklion airport as it is much easier from there to deal with transport
